Managing insurance claims of MSPO-2 incident at Moerdijk

Shelll awarded today to Seanergy the contract to manage the insurance claim in the aftermath of the 3rd June explosion and fire of the MSPO-2 plant at Shell Moerdijk. The claims will be property damage, business interruption for the asset owner, Property damage for the operator and business interruption for the product owner. The contract is expected to last to mid 2016. A limited number of third party claims will required to be settled as well. Seanergy will work in close cooperation with the workstream managers with in the joint venture. Seanergy will represent Shell's interest and with the BASF insurance manager the joint venture perspective will be managed in view the insurance policy. The insurers have appointed several different loss adjusters each with specific expertise area to manage the insurers interests. Both Shell and Basf own insurance companies are partially involved as co-insurers.
